Damе de Bouard - The typicity of a great Montagne Saint-?milion
Second wine of the magnificent Ch?teau Clos de Bo?ard, Dame de Bo?ard presents all the typicity of a great wine of Montagne-Saint-?milion,appellation located on the right bank of the Bordeauxregion, a few kilometers from Saint-?milion.
The vineyard of Ch?teau Clos de Bo?ard extends over 30 hectares of vines aged 40 years on average, located on clay-limestone slopes enjoying a very beautiful exposure to the south.
The Dame de Bo?ard 2018 vintage is the result of a rigorous selection of the most beautiful grapes that have been the subject of manual sorting followed by Mistral sorting and optical eye sorting. The blend is composed of 66% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is aged for 10 to 14 months in barrels with 30% new oak.
Elaborated by the talented Winemaker Coralie de Bo?ard de Laforest and Hubert de Bo?ard de Laforest, Dame de Bo?ard 2018 offers all the charm and elegance of a great red wine from Montagne Saint-?milion.
This 60/30/10 blend of Merlot/Cabernet Franc/Cabernet Sauvignon from Coralie de Bo?ard ages for about a year in 30% new oak. The light plum color is reminiscent of a Beaujolais. The wine includes a lively, feisty set of complex fruit aromas—wild strawberries, raspberries, black currants, cherries and orange peel. In the mouth—confident tannins and an elegant declaration that the potential Montagne Saint-?milion can deliver. Flavors of eucalyptus, sage and mint in a dark matrix of black cherries. Mid palate—cherries and a hint or oranges.
Pair with duck breast and foie gras, a mango chutney rice pilaf or a dessert of mint/mocha ice cream
