Blend by Nerelo Mascalese and Nocera
Rosa is the fruit of an original blend of two red grape varieties, among the most representative of Sicilian viticulture: Nerelo Mascalese and Nocera.
Rosa expresses the values of creativity and craftsmanship in Italy that Dolce & Gabbana and Donnafugata share and offer to the world. The result of the original blend of Nerelo Mascalese and Nocera grape varieties. Nerello Mascalese, which is grown on volcanic soils, expresses minerality and a refined floral component.
On arrival at the cellars, the bunches are transferred to a vibrating table for manual sorting, the cold maceration of the grapes in the must lasting 6-12 hours, allowing the best extraction from the skins of all the aromatic precursors, as well as the colour that distinguishes this rosé. Once fermentation is complete, the Nerello Mascalese and Nocera are blended, followed by two months of aging in vats and at least 3 months of bottle aging before release.
Pale pink in color, it has a broad floral bouquet of jasmine and rose petals, with delicate fruity notes of peach and white-fleshed fruit. The palate is captivated by the freshness of Nocera, a variety grown by Donnafugata among the hills of Contessa Entellina, in the heart of the charming Sicilian countryside.
The special finesse of this rosé is linked to the unmistakable minerality of Nerello Mascalese from Etna, the majestic volcano that dominates the eastern part of the island.
