Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot
The wine has a deep, dark ruby color with garnet hue.

Harmonious and concentrated patterns of mature red fruit, cassis, spice, jam, smoke, chocolate, mocha and honey. Rich, dense, very soft and elegant.

Ripe red berries, black currant, spices, jam, smoke, chocolate are detected in its taste, and the integrated oak is an evidence of the high class of this wine.

Long, reminiscent finish and mineral aftertaste.

Katarzyna Estate

Katarzyna Estate is located in one of the most favourable areas for vineyard cultivation in Bulgaria and Europe on an area of 24 248 sq.m., only 2 km from the village of. Mezek, at the foot of the Eastern Rhodopes. The area is undulating, very picturesque and still wonderfully wild, here grow the typical pyramidal poplars, low-growing oak and hornbeam, and the valley of the r. Maritza is overgrown with dense willow forests.

The estate was created on the site of the former border zone separating Bulgaria and Greece, a fact that has preserved nature from human activity over the past decades. Hence the name of one of their wines - Halla.

Katarzyna Estate is built on an area of 10,000 square meters and a production capacity of 12,000 hectoliters.The layout of the buildings was conceived in accordance with the technological processes, following the significant slope of the terrain, which also necessitated the application of the gravity method of construction. EUR 12 million have been invested. The architects of the winery are arch. Todor Obreshkov and arch. Iva Platikanova. The winery was officially opened in 2007.

The winery consists of three interconnected buildings and features:

a fermentation section for white and red wines; an experimental section for barrel fermentation; a blending and stabilization section; an underground cellar for barrel aging; a bottling section; an underground tunnel for bottle aging; a restaurant for guests.

Katarzyna Estate has winter and summer vegetable gardens where vegetables, herbs and spices are produced , both for the cellar workers and Katarzyna's guests. Katarzyna Estate also owns an apiary located in one of the vineyard plots.The local conditions, climate and variety of wild honey plants provide grazing for bees from early spring to late autumn.In addition to producing organic honey from acacia, grapes and wild herbs, bees also help pollinate our vineyards.

Katarzyna Estate's vineyards are picturesquely situated in the White Earth area around the winery itself on an area of 300 hectares. They were planted in 2004 after careful study of the soils and climatic specifics of the individual plots. The winery owns another 1000 hectares of vineyard land in the village. Belitsa, planted in 2006, and 1500 hectares in the land of the village. Lozen, also planted in 2006.

The ratio between red and white varieties is 70:30. The reds are merlot, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, cabernet franc, malbec, tempranillo, carmenère and mauroud. The whites are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Viognier, Muscat Ottonel and Traminer.

In cultivation, state-of-the-art viticultural practices are applied to achieve maximum grape quality - green pruning, shoot piercing and tying, removal of part of the foliage and green grape harvesting.

The land is sandy, stony and poor, so the main agricultural crops in the area are sesame, tobacco, cotton, almonds, peaches, apricots and grapes. In different parts of the estate the soils are leached cinnamon forest (Chromic luvisol), leached cinnamon forest (Eutric cambisol) and rendzina (Rendzina).

The climate is temperate continental with a strong Mediterranean influence. Summers are dry and hot and winters are warm and rainy. Katarzyna Estate is located in the area with the longest sunshine, with temperatures reaching 4000°C during the growing season.
