Korten Wines

Тhe village KORTEN is situated in the heart of the Thracian Valley at 5km north of Nova Zagora, 200m above the sea level, at the foothills of Sarnena gora. The Korten village has ancient traditions in viticulture and wine production dating back from the time of the Thracians and Romans. The locals are very popular as very good grapegrowers and masters of cultivated propagating material for viticulture. 

The climate is moderate continental with good distribution of rainfall throughout the whole growing season. The mountain is a natural protection from the harsh northern winds. Soils are mainly cinnamon forest, gray forest and warm, dark colored resinous with humus layers of 40-50sm. The terroir favors obtaining of gorgeous, rich, well-structured, dense and memorable quality red wines like Merlot, Mavrud, Rubin, Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, petit Verdot , Syrah and etc.

The KORTEN wines are being created in KORTEN boutique winery know for its methods of microvinification as well as for tis emblematic red wines. The winery has the lastest modern equipment provided by leading manifacturers. This allows combinations of traditions and modern winemaking practices to produce high-end boutique wines. The KORTEN winery owns 2300 american barrels and french barriques - a mandatory equipment in winemaking and production of premium wines in which are aging different vintages.
