100% Grüner Veltliner
Pale yellow-green in color. A remarkable bouquet of fresh herbs, yellow fruits, and the variety’s signature peppery spice. The palate is rich and complex, with vibrant minerality, a subtle spiciness, and great energy and aging potential.
Markus Huber was born in 1979 and studied viticulture and enology at Klosterneuburg, Austria. His family winery, Weingut Markus Huber, has a history of over 250 years. After a visit to South Africa in 2000, Markus began gradually expanding and modernizing the winery’s equipment. Today, it is one of Austria’s most renowned wineries, with wines enjoyed in over 20 countries, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Since then, our goal has been to produce premium white wines that reflect their origin. Huber wines are distinguished by their elegance, fine minerality, precision, and complexity.
In 2015, Markus Huber was awarded Falstaff’s "Austrian Winemaker of the Year". He is married and a proud father of three daughters.
Traisental – Austria’s Youngest Wine Region
Austria’s youngest wine-growing region is also one of its smallest. Traisental covers just 770 hectares of vineyards but is an exceptional area, particularly for its flagship grape variety, Grüner Veltliner. While many small wine villages here are known for their traditional Heurigen taverns, the larger towns of Traismauer and Herzogenburg offer a glimpse into the region’s history.
Since the 2006 vintage, the region’s aromatic, spicy Grüner Veltliners and juicy, mineral-driven Rieslings have been the first wines to be released under the "Traisental DAC" quality certification.
