The Prelius label represents the water of the ancient coastal lake of Prelius, which is now known as Marema Toscana. The lake is slowly disappearing due to salt mining and drainage over the centuries. Today, the site is an exceptional terroir with unique qualities that produces one-of-a-kind wines. The vineyards of Prelius are situated on a hill along the shores of the ancient lake, 9 kilometres from the sea, facing the majestic Tuscan archipelago.
The microclimate of Marema is particularly favourable for the production of Vermentino because of the exceptional exposure of the vineyards, the spectacular terroir and the proximity to the sea. All this gives the wine distinct mineral notes, freshness and aromatic qualities.
A 100% organic wine that is made from entirely organically grown grapes, without the use of synthetic chemicals in any subsequent stage of processing or storage.
