The grapes used for Redoma Branco come from old vineyards grown on the right bank of the Douro River, at an altitude of between 400 and 600 metres. The predominant grape varieties here are Rabigato, C?dega do Larinho, Viosinho, Donzelinho and Gouveio.
A rainy winter is followed by a fairly mild spring, which provides favourable conditions for the vines to grow. On the other hand, the month of June was relatively cool and slowed down the growth cycle. July has brought very high temperatures and three heat waves which have somewhat reduced yields. Harvesting started in the first weeks of August in the hottest areas and finished at the end of September on the higher slopes.
The grapes come from old vines that grow on the right bank of the Douro, at an altitude of 400 to 600 metres above sea level. These vines grow mainly on micaceous soils which, combined with the complexity of the different grape varieties characteristic of the Douro, create delicate wines full of freshness and minerality. After being meticulously sorted on our sorting table, the fruit is carefully pressed and left to settle for about 24 hours.
Redoma Branco 2020 reveals floral and citrus notes, orchard fruit, grassy aromas, and hints of hazelnut that give the wine added complexity and character. The palate offers good acidity and light structure, finishing with a dry and spicy finish. This is a seamless white wine from Douro with incredible balance and great aging potential.
